Benefit Roller Lash Review

This wee mascara has been about for a while and I purchased this a while back. It's said to lift and curl lashes, for extreme curly lashes. This retails at €26 which is pretty steep for a mascara if you ask me. The most important thing about this post is 'does it live up to the hype?'

This mascara has a plastic wand which I LOVE. These are my fav types of mascara. The wand itself has a curve, which you can see from the picture above. It has different size hairs or spikes on the wand. I think this is what grabs on to the lashes and lifts them up. This mascara says that you don't need a lash curler with this mascara. I personally don''t use a lash curler as my own lashes are pretty curly and with mascara they get even curler.

This made my lashes so curly and they lasted that way alllll day. I think one of my favourite parts about this mascara is that it doesn't smudge under the eye after a few hours of wear. This is a pet peeve of mine with mascara.  Here are 2 pics with one eye with  the roller lash and the other without.

Without flash

This mascara helps separate and lengthen your lashes aswell and it layers superb without getting clumpy! Win! Benefit Roller Lash mascara lives up to the hype completely It curls and lifts the lashes and it lasts all day. The only downside is the price. If the price doesn't bother you then you should try this mascara.

Product empties and would I repurchase, Part 2

Here is my second installment of my product empties. Its long. Sorry. Grab a snack! lol.

Image result for benefit roller lashFirst we have the Benefit Roller lash. I was so excited to try this mascara as I had seen it used by many beauty bloggers and vloggers. I got this as a set so I felt it was great value for money. This mascara is steep at €26 for the tub. Usually I don't bother with highend mascaras as I find the drugstore versions just as good, if not better. I loved this mascara. It did curl my lashes and it was great in that it didn't smudge under my eyes throughout the day. I would repurchase this mascara, only if it was on offer though. Its just too expensive and the Max Factor Masterpiece is just as good for half the price.

Image result for loreal true matchL'oreal True Match is a staple in my collection of foundations. I love this and the Lumi version. I always have one going at all times. Maybe even two, in different shades. This is a great all round foundation that suits almost every skin type. This makes your skin look like your skin but better and its buildable without being cakey. I will always repurchase this unless I find a drugstore affordable foundation that is any better. This retails from €14-€16. You can get this in most local chemists.

Image result for caudalie beauty elixirCaudalie Beauty Elixir. YES, YES, YES. This product gives me all the feels. Its refreshing. Tones the skin. Refreshes the skin and can be used as a makeup setting spray. This is an all round product. It smells like a spa. I got a trio pack and i'm on my third bottle. This is £11 for 30ml and £32 for 100ml. I bought mine on a flight with Aer Lingus. You can get it here on

Image result for nip and fab glycolic padsNip and Fab Glycolic Cleansing Pads. These retail from €8-€14. I purchased mine on cloud10beauty on an offer and right now boots have them on offer for €8.99 which is a steal. I done a blogpost on these wee gems here. These enriched with glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid, which gives a brighter, more moisturised and youthful appearance to the skin. I would most certainly repurchase these.

Image result for garnier fresh essentials tonerGarnier Fresh Essentials Soothing Toner.  This is cheap and cheerful and I would 100% buy this again. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Right now, I am trying out a few different toners but the best thing about this is there is no alcohol on the ingredients and it retails anywhere from €3-€5. You can get this in most local chemists.

Image result for sleek primerSleek Control Shine and Prime. €11. This didn't do it for me. I didn't really like the consistency of this primer and I found that it didn't do anything for tzone where I applied it for my oils coming through. I used it up and gave it a good chance but I wouldn't purchase this again. It just didn't work for me.

Image result for rimmel match perfection powder Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Powder. €9.69. This is a fab loose powder. I do really like it. It isn't drying on the skin and doesn't cake like other powders. If you have dry skin then this is a great affordable option for you. I done a blogpost on it here. I would repurchase this product.

Image result for garnier soft essentials moisturiser Garnier Essentials Hydrating Moisturiser. €7. In my opinion, Garnier is one of the best affordable skincare brands out there. They cater for all skin types and you will find something that will work for you no matter the skin issues. The only stickler with this is there is no SPF in it but it is very hydrating on the skin. I probably wouldn't repurchase this, only on the no SPF issue.

Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15, ${color} MAC Studio Fix foundation. €32. I have repurchased so many bottles of this throughout the years I couldn't even give you an estimate as to how many. This was my 'going out' foundation for years. It is a matte, full coverage foundation that doesn't budge. I am now 30 and matte foundations just seep into to those new fine lines on my face that seem to have appeared over night! boo hoo! I did a post on how to sheer out a matte foundation like this and give you are more glowing appearance here. Unfortunately for me I wouldn't repurchase this only because i'm passed the matte stage. This is a gem for youthful skin though.

Image result for rimmel match perfection foundationRimmel Match Perfection Foundation. €10. I wrote a blogpost on this here. This is a great wee foundation. It has a satin finish. Not matte or not dewy. Somewhere in between. I would repurchase this again if I couldn't get my hands on the L'oreal True Match.

I know, wow,  way to long of a blogpost. I couldn't even add all my empties in as there was just to much and some products were repeats of my previous empties post.

Nip and Fab Dragon Blood Cleansing Pads

Nip+Fab have quickly become one of my favourite skincare brands. They are loved by plenty of celebs, including Kylie Jenner.  I wrote a blog post on the glycolic pads and cleanser, here.

Just like the glycolic pads these are a cleansing pad that can be an amazing addition to your skincare routine. These particular pads are enriched with 'dragons blood'. So it's not really blood, it's a resin of the 'Croton Lechleri' tree, which is also called the 'Dragon Tree'. These pads, like the glycolic pads have 60 in the tub. The are designed to refresh and smooth the skin. These are also designed to create a plumper appearance to the skin.

These pads have a strong scent to them but I actually really like the scent. It's not bad at all, just strong.

These pads are just like the glycolic pads, they are ridged on one side and help to lightly exfoliate the skin.  They are more moist than the glycolic pads. I love using these in the morning as they really help my skin wake up and feel refreshed. These pads have helped with the texture of my skin. If you are prone to breakouts, I highly recommend these pads.

These are my new favourite skincare item and I know I will be purchasing more.  I purchased these on cloud10beauty for €12.95.

Simple Oil Cleanser

Oil cleansers seem to be everywhere at the moment. I received a sample size of the Mac Cleansing oil with a Mac order and I fell in love with it. I immediately went on the hunt for a more affordable option but I wanted it to be just as effective.

Here is the mac sample I got:

I seen Garnier had released an oil infused micellar water but I didn't like the concept as in my opinion, that is not what they are for. I feel like this would need to be rinsed then after. Defeating the purpose of a Micellar water.

I found this Simple Oil Cleanser in Boots for €9.99 . I know this seems like just another product to be buying but if you wear long wearing foundation and makeup on a regular basis this is so kind to the skin. Oil cleansers are applied to dry skin and help breakdown the long wearing makeup gently and usually they add much needed hydration to the skin. All you have to do is apply a small amount in to your fingers and gently massage the face. You will be soooo surprised at how much this breaks down your makeup without having to tug at your skin and use 6 cotton pads. Then cleanse your face as normal and it will make cleaning your face so much easier.

One of my favourite things about this product is the ingredients:

It has pure grapeseed oil and is free from perfume and colour. It is infused with Vitamins A&E and doesn't leave a greasy residue. It does what it says on the tin. Don't be afraid even if you have oily skin. This doesn't cause breakouts and my skin felt amazing after.

I did find this so helpful on gel liner and waterproof mascara removal.

If you are avid user of Estee Lauder Double Wear or Mac Studio Fix. You will love this, I promise and it is so affordable. You cant go wrong.

Do we have to use a facial toner?

Image result for pixi glow tonicImage result for facial toners

I get asked this question quite a bit and I also hear people saying that they don't notice anything beneficial if they use toner or if they don't.

Skincare has come a long long way in the last 20 years. Toners years ago were filled with alcohol and astringents like witch hazel. These can be irritable to the skin. Toners with alcohol are said to be a great addition to your skincare regime if you have oily skin. If you have dry or mature skin then this is probably drying your skin even further.

I feel that if you get the correct toner for your skin type, then yes this can be a really beneficial to your skin.

When we cleanse our faces we are removing the dirt and oils on our skin. Our pores are open and can be prone to dirt and oil getting back in there and causing breakouts. Using a toner and help tighten those pores down, making it harder for the pores to get clogged by dirt.

If you have dry or mature skin then look for toners that are alcohol free. Toners that help bring moisture back to the skin after cleansing strips them. these toners should contain revitalising ingredients.

If you have oily skin then look for something like witch hazel and or salicylic acid to help reduce the production of oil and help combat acne.

If you have normal skin then I would opt for a toner similar to that of people with dry skin.

All in all I really do feel that toning the skin, after it is cleansed helps your skin. It can really help revitalise the skin, help tighten pores and give you that glowing complexion you long for.

My fav toner at the minute is the Pixi Glow tonic. I did a post on it here.

Cocoa Brown Instant Bronzing Gel + Pink Velvet Mitt

Cocoa Brown is a household name at this stage and I see this product everywhere. They have the prettiest, eye-catching packaging and its sooo girly. I have been dying to try this tan for ages. I think we all need to have an instant tan on hand for emergency nights out or when we are too lazy to tan the night before,

I have a strong love affair with the Golden Goddess Oil. I did a review on this here

Their are 2 options for this. Matte or Shimmer. I opted for the matte version of this, as I figured I could use the golden goddess oil if I wanted any shimmer, for nights out, etc. This is a big hit in my opinion and gives that natural glow. Nothing too crazy and isn't orange at all. It gives a nice tan effect to the skin.

On top is my skin before the bronzing gel and below is it right after application.

I applied this with their Cocoa Brown velvet mitt.

I am in LOVE with this. It pairs so well with the gel and makes your tan go on so easily. This really helps with a streak free tan.  This is also machine washable. That is super handy and helps with the hygiene of the mitt.

The gel is €6.99 and the Mitt is €4.95. I got the tan on cloud10beauty and the mitt in Pennys. If you are on the look out for an instant tan then give this a go. It is well worth it and so affordable.  My next purchases from this brand will be the Kind shampoo and conditioner as my Psoriasis have flared up again and they are supposed to be kind to the scalp.  What is your favourite Cocoa Brown product?

TheBalm Schwing, liquid liner

Liquid liner is something everyone should have. Its one of those things that can make a look. I used to be ride or die the L'oreal Liquid Liner and went through at least 6 tubes in my time,

I love the brand TheBalm and I am a fan of alot of their products.  This was something I was excited about. The wand was exactly what I like to apply my liner. Its nice and thin with a tiny point.

This product can really help achieve that crisp line on your eyelid and it dries matte. Its nice and black and looks great on the lid.

Here comes the bad part. This is in no way waterproof. When I laugh I cry. I mean tripping in tears. So this is not so great. This liner smudges like crazy. If your eyes water even a bit, It just goes everywhere and that is not a pretty look.

Below I had the teeniest we wing and there was a funny show on TV and this was the outcome:

I do love waterproof gel liner but that can be hard to use if you are not used to it.

I love this for how straight a line you get and how great the applicator is but this will go everywhere if your eyes are watery at all.
